Progressive Agriculture Foundation® Receives Practitioner Award from International Society for Agricultural Safety and Health
Birmingham, Ala. – [September 29, 2025] – The Progressive Agriculture Foundation (PAF) is proud to announce that its flagship Progressive Agriculture Safety Day® program has been honored with the 2025 Practitioner Achievement Award from the International Society for Agricultural Safety and Health (ISASH). The award recognizes PAF’s exceptional contributions to rural safety and health education over the past three decades.
2025 marks 30 years of the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day® program — the largest rural safety and health education program for children in North America. Since its inception in 1995, the program has reached more than 2 million children and adults across 42 U.S. states, two U.S. territories, and nine Canadian provinces, as well as in three South American countries. Each year, PAF mentors and empowers more than 400 Safety Day Coordinators to help lead the effort within their communities. These individuals work alongside nearly 12,000 local volunteers to deliver hands-on educational experiences with potentially life-saving messages to prevent incidents from occurring in rural communities.
The program’s educational reach has evolved to address emerging safety and health issues such as grain safety, mental wellness, and ATV/UTV safety, while also expanding delivery methods for greater accessibility, ease in implementation, and engagement with new audiences.
“We are deeply honored to receive the Practitioner Achievement Award from ISASH, especially during our 30th anniversary year,” said Brian Kuhl, President and Chief Executive Officer at the Progressive Agriculture Foundation. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our staff, coordinators, volunteers, and partners who share our vision of creating the safest rural environment possible for children, their families, and their communities.”
Beyond its programming, PAF’s commitment to advancing agricultural safety is evident through the active involvement of its staff and board members in ISASH, including service on the organization's Board of Directors, along with leadership on various committees and interest groups.
The award was presented at the 2025 ISASH Annual Conference in Portland, Maine, where agricultural safety and health professionals from across the globe gathered to share research, best practices, and innovations in the field
